History:
FPLD was established in August 29, 1961 as a volunteer library by a group of mothers from Frankfort Parent Teachers Association, and originally located at 9 W. Nebraska. It became a tax supported village library on May 28, 1966 and moved to 27 S. Ash in May 1966. In 1979, it relocated for the second and final time to its current location.
FPLD is a part of the Metropolitan Library System.
